Research can be a daunting task. Many factors make it difficult to even know where to begin. The following is a list of recommended reading to quickly come up to speed on the science behind climate change and local legislative action.
HB 3470 The Healthy Climate Act This bill promises to retrofit Oregon's economy for sustainability, creating jobs, and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for Oregon's children.
AB 32 Scoping Plan This may not be an edge-of-your-seat page turner for the casual reader, but if you're curious about the bill that inspired Tom Bowerman to write the most substantial climate action proposal for Oregon, the Healthy Climate Act, it still may prove to be titillating reading material.
Register to Vote
Now when residents of Oregon receive a driver's license from the DMV, they are immediately registered to vote. However, if you have not done this, you may still need to register. You can do so by visiting the Oregon Secretary of State's website here.
The last day to register for the May 16, 2017 Primary Election is April 25, 2017. You cannot vote in the Oregon Democratic primary if you are not a registered Democrat.
The last day to register for the November 7, 2017 General Election is October 17, 2017.
